The flipside to the AI does your homework narrative

I’ve written about a few things AI doesn’t do very well on its own, namely deeply original creative work, but there is something AI does very well — writing summaries, outlines, and as it turns out, lesson plans.

We live in an age when all of the information resources you need are at your fingertips — but now you can have a structured curriculum as a guide through it

In the past, I’ve thought about the fact that it seems like you can learn virtually anything online, but actually sitting down and doing it was a challenge. It was hard for me to figure out how to begin and where I was going.

However, now you can ask ChatGPT to design a curriculum of any duration, covering any topics and peppered with exercises to test your comprehension.

For instance, I’ve wanted to teach myself the basics of AI, Machine Learning and Large Language Models (LLM) — which drive the technology behind ChatGPT. I asked ChatGPT to design a course for me covering the basics of these:

So far, I’m filling in the details from week to week, so feel free to follow along.
